My son and I were just a few feet away from 2,000 pound sea lions, as they slash and bite their way through a Pink Salmon run in Valdez Alaska! Should we be this close?

"They go from violent to lazy in just a second or two." Sounds like me in my younger days, when I drank. 😆 They are interesting critters. Thanks for sharing the footage from your collab.

That's what I was feeling as well. Maybe the over abundance of fish at that point but then again they do spend a majority of time laying around🤣

Boy what great memories you and your son can have and keep forever. I can't believe their are so many different kinds of sea birds. And those seals are amazing. U watched a new video of brooke yesterday and today your video. Love love love them. You put out such great videos. Do you get to feed the sea lions? It's nice that you can travel . Stay safe.

You could throw them a fish I suppose...

I was watching your cabin building video and saw this video from Valdez! I was visiting my son and his family August 2020 in North Pole and we drove up to Valdez for a couple of days. We got to watch the sea lions at the Solomon Gulch Salmon hatchery! I had a spectacular time in Alaska! Love your videos!

This brings back memories of scuba diving in the ocean where I had to do my final exercise for my diving certificate. The sea lions would spot us and clap their flippers then swim towards us and turn just in time so we didn't get injured. It was scary at first as I was only 16 at the time. Quite the sight for you and Nick. God bless you Dave and your family.

I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m going to build an outhouse for a dry cabin on my Homer property soon and I’ve got property off the Susitna River that I want to build a cabin on after I retire next year. If you ever make your way down to Homer, stop by the Coast Guard office next to Nomar and say Hi. (I’ll be there until March anyway). I’m also thinking about starting a TRpost channel after retirement. You give a lot of good tips. People seem to really like videos of Alaska.
