*When square footage is tight, it helps if statement pieces are both charming **BestTiny.House** and useful. An old wood-burning stove brings a vintage vibe to new construction and also heats the entire place.*

I have been a chef for about 30 years, and I have never seen anyone flip an egg like you did, it was so beautifully done, thanks for the idea. It was like you were totally fearless of breaking that yolk

A good insulation strip is that wool plus denim insulation. I get it from Lowes. You can staple in on, tear to size, and it take latex caulking really well.

Absolutely love your log cabin Dave. What an awesome job you did from start to finish I watched. The only thing I haven’t seen was it totally fixed up on the inside and how it looked hopefully I’ll be able to find that video. This is Meg from upstate New York near the Adirondacks

Looks absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing! I'm always amazed at how bad the mosquito problem is in Alaska considering how cold the winters are. I live in SE Idaho and misquitos are few and far between here. At least compared to my home state of Florida. Thanks again!

Loved all the episodes of your beautiful log cabin. I never realized the work involved, wow, great job, u know your stuff, took alot of years to learn this I'm sure, so appreciate u sharing!! Poor Brooke and the bark during later months but had to b done. So got me thinking if this log cabin build was on the market but in a "miniature scale". If ya ever wanna blueprint, mfg this log cabin build into a minature kit for sale I think it would b a major seller. Not everyone can live this dream but to build it would b such a glorious accomplished feeling, I would make it out of cedar, my favorite rustic smell. Give it some thought 🤔. Don't forget the instructions if u do it! Lol thx for sharing Dave.

Excellent video!! You’re a real woodsman’s craftsman! I’m curious, is the jig you use on your chainsaw something you came up with or is it something commercial? Pretty damn slick. Looking forward to more of the cabin build!

I lpve watching you build! But when you showed the first Beatle you said it was so good But never said what it was good for. I like to know what bugs are good for something usefull to us. You are very good at what you do! Not just building but informing us as viewers. And it is always very good to see a man who cleans up as he goes. I am sure Brooke appreciates this as well. ☺

I just think those beetles are cool. People are afraid of them but they are actually a pretty cool bug. My son was TERRIFIED of those things when he was 4 so we had to get to know them to get him over his fear, now I think they're cool

Dave, Another Great video. Loved your simplistic attitude of cooking. This Summer I am renting a friend's 34 ft RV. I am relearning how to cook on a gas ( propane ) stove. Will you be making bed frames, dressers, closets, tables and such for the cabin project. You might as well get a head start on a crib. ( for your grandchild ) Tell Brooke and the kids you're just thinking ahead. No sense waiting till the last 9 months. LOL!! I can hardly wait for your next video. Till then. God bless and Stay safe in the woods.

Beautiful work, your very talented Dave. One more thing I wanted to mention and I'm kinda thinking you might not want to hear it(😂). Yes yellow jackets sting like heck, but they really are necessary. They kill all kind of insects that are destroying our Farmers crops. Just a thought, Thanks Dave🛠

A few years ago I had Bagworms show up in my Evergreens on one side of my house. And in one of the trees was a huge Bald face hornets nest. I had it removed for all the right reasons. What I found out is they came to feed on the Bagworms from the exterminator. It was bigger than the average bowling ball. They some bad dudes....

Nice work Dave, Aspen Logs? Do you expect any issues with black mould? We are building a log house from sawn 8" X 8" green Hemlock. Unfortunately because of strict building codes we have to use a contractor for most of the work. We have Bald Faced Hornets here and they are mega aggressive, you upset them and they will chase you down. I got 3 stings from them a couple of years ago when I knocked into a nest and it was extremely painful with swelling. I read their stings are the 5th most painful insect sting on the Planet. Thanks for sharing your hard work and out of the box ideas.
Bushradical3 yıl önce
The Aspen needs to be sealed but it needs a while to dry out before you seal it. If it gets hot and wet then it will mold...but a little bleach and water cleans them right up

nice work. I like this style of cabin, a lot more work than stud wall construction but a sweet look.

Yeah, great look.... but the most important part, logs are free, dimensional lumber, plywood, insulation all cost money. This greatly reduces initial outlay for the structure.... Great job with that cabin!
